Fragrance Lamps - what are they?
Fragrance Lamps are a wonderful invention that have been around since the 17th century. They were first used in hospitals around the world to kill bacteria - nowadays they are fragranced with oils
The oil used in these lamps are 99% alchohol and the scent evaporates in time.
They kill upto 99% of bacteria, dust mites, germs etc in your home.
A Large Lamps should be sufficeint for a whole house a small Lamp for one room.
How they work -- you fill the lamps 1/2 full with an oil (only buy oils for frangrance lamps as they are 99% alchohol based) - then you insert the wick - once the wick has been left for 1/2 hour (this enables the wick to soak up the oil) you then lite the top of the wick - leave this burning for approx. 2 minutes and then BLOW OUT. Replace the ornate cap and leave to fragrance your room for as long as you wish. Once you had decided to stop the fragrance then remove the ornate cap and replace with the plain cap then cover with the decorative cap - this then makes a lovely decoration to adorn any room.
When you wish to have the fragrance on again simple remove the cap and lite for 2 mins again.
